How To Bid Cheap On Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
Here are my considerations to make sure that I bid cheap on keywords:
1. First, I use 2-word and 3-word keyword phrases. They are much cheaper than one-word keywords. Also, searchers usually type 2-word and 3-word keyword phrases.
2. Second, I have a separate list of what we call “emerging” keywords. They are words that are still new but increasingly being typed by your highly-qualified visitors.
3. I look at the research from http://inventory.overture.com and compare the visitors looking for a particular keyword. This is subjective but effective. Based on my experience, 50 visitors looking for a particular keyword is particularly cheaper than a keyword being searched upon by 500 people. The specific search engine will also provide you its own monitoring tool.
4. Lastly, there’s no substitute for an earlier performance research you have done on your keyword list. You simply weed out keywords that you consider costly but have low conversion rate from the previous campaign. Assess your campaign vs. your desired ROI.
A particular word of caution: determine first if it’s your website or landing page that contributes largely to low sales conversion vs. the keyword. Perhaps, your salesletter page or specifically, USP, is not effective enough.

What do you really want from your internet marketing effort?
You must have a definite idea on what you really want.
Each goal requires a different strategy or tactics, intensity of promotion, and a certain amount of promotional budget.
Here are some of the goals you might want to consider:
1. Generate customers – at the start, you want a certain level of revenue that will at least cover your overheads. A tidy profit is a plus, but not necessary, while you’re still starting your business.
2. Increase sales – you are already getting income but you want more. Compared to item #1, this is in a different stage of the business/product cycle.
3. Grow your customer list – you still want more customers from your present level. Compared to item #2, your focus here is the number of customers.
4. Get additional revenues from other income streams – usually from upselling and cross-selling minor products. These activities can tide you over in case of a slump to your major product.
5. Product awareness – you are just introducing your product/service. In this regard, you are not concerned with any sales nor profit at all. This is especially true if your long-term goal is market dominance.
6. Generate brand loyalty – you want to produce a certain number of loyal customers that will maintain your business while giving you a healthy profit.
7. Maintain brand loyalty – you don’t want your customers to forget you and you want to make up for those who have already forgotten you through time.
8. Public relations or increase credibility – you are not yet credible to your target market and your sales conversion still stinks.
You might still want to add from this list. You can also select a combination from the above goals.
But you’ve got a problem.
You don’t know how to do it and you want your promo money work hard for you.

Products for Beginners
To minimize your business risk, choose a product that is already widely known and with established brand loyalty.
Why will you choose a product that is not yet established? This is the mystery I have continuously seen from newbie marketers. I also committed the same in my early marketing days.
Perhaps in the future, when you already have enough cash, you can adopt a promising product and develop the market. But not now.
With this principle, I waited for months and continuously monitor a product. I let them "shoulder the marketing costs" before I presented myself.
When it's already popular, I contacted its officers and offered my internet marketing services.
My first day of market test generated 11 visits and 6 inquiries. People clicked because they have already recognized the product, from the efforts exerted by the product administrator.

Is Your Website for People or for Search Engines?
You have 2 types of audience for your website presentation – your target market and the search engines. It’s hard to ignore any one of them or you’ll suffer, one way or another.
For years, it’s a big puzzle to me on how to satisfy both. One is a human being and the other is a software robot. I always ended up satisfying none.
I’m sure that I’m not alone in this predicament. I worked out a solution for the benefit of people out there.
Although it’s still recently launched and for testing, you may proceed to http://bizinfo.manila.ph/outsourcing
Let me describe it to you so that you will understand the reason for the layout.
The landing frame (it’s the frame that you see first without scrolling the browser yet) is for people. I put all important things in this frame, all I wanted to present.
If my visitors still want to scroll down, they can and still read more.
At the same time, the presentation below the landing frame satisfies the search engine robots.
My keywords are “weaved” into the presentation. It meets the requirement of at least 350-400 words by Google and other search engines.
I think I have satisfied both types of audience in this way.
